Representatives of the Road Brigade reported that on Saturday morning, on the Northern road in the 1st sector of the capital, they organized a control action to identify persons driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances.
“Around 04:30, a police officer of the traffic police brigade gave a legal stop signal to a vehicle, the driver of which did not obey it and continued driving. Police teams of the traffic police immediately set off in pursuit, and at the first stage they managed to block the car on a nearby street. Under these circumstances, trying to continue evading the measures of law enforcement agencies, the driver broke through the barricade set up by the policemen, running into one of them, who started the procedure of forced removal from the car, after which he continued driving. As a result of this action, a special vehicle of the road brigade was also damaged,” the police said.
They added that the man then left the car on another street in sector 1 and tried to run away.
“After taking measures, the police found him in the nearby area and immobilized him with the help of equipment. Having established the identity of the deceased, the police began checking with the Alcooltest device, the result of which was 0.28 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air. According to the results of preliminary testing using the DrugTest device, signs of the possible presence of psychoactive substances appeared,” the source said.
