The presidential decree on Boyarinev’s promotion is published on the official legal information portal of the Russian government.

The FSIN official was promoted three days after the sudden death of opponent Oleksii Navalny in colony No. 1. 3 of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, infamous for the conditions and torture used on detainees.

Boyarynev, who received a special title from Putin, will hold the position of deputy director of the FSIN from July 2022. He coordinates the Main Operational Directorate (GOU), as well as the Main Directorate for Ensuring the Activities of Operational Units (GUODOP), notes The Moscow Times.

The portal about the rights of prisoners in Russia, Gulagu.net, notes that “Boyarinev fulfilled Putin’s wish – the physical elimination of the main political opponent.”

“That Boyaryniev directed the torture of hundreds of Ukrainian prisoners, beating self-accusations out of them that they had committed acts of genocide by shooting the civilian population,” thus the Russian authorities tried to gather alleged “evidence” to justify the invasion of Ukraine, claims Gulagu.net.

The Russian authorities refused to hand over Navalny’s body to his relatives

According to the FSIN administration in the Yamalo-Nenets district, after the walk, Navalny “suddenly felt ill and lost consciousness almost immediately”, and “resuscitation measures” did not yield positive results, “ambulance doctors declared death”.

FSIN claims that Navalny died of “sudden death syndrome”.

In the document drawn up by the FSIN, which was handed over to Navalny’s mother by the staff of the IK-3 correctional colony, it is stated that the death occurred on February 16 at 2:17 p.m. local time. However, one of the detainees here told the opposition newspaper “Nova gazeta Europa” (located in Riga/Latvia) that the penitentiary learned about his death four hours before.

After that, Navalny’s body was transported from the penal colony in the city of Harp to the morgue of the district clinical hospital in the city of Salekhard. On Monday, three days after the announcement of his death, Navalny’s mother Lyudmila (67 years old) and his lawyer were not allowed into the morgue to see the body, and later representatives of the Russian Investigative Committee informed them that his body had been found. sent for a “chemical examination”, which will last 14 days.

During this time, Navalny’s body will not be handed over to his relatives.

A team of human rights defenders promised to soon publish “Navalny’s list” of officials of the Federal Security Service (FSB, ex-KGB) and FSIN responsible for the death of the opponent and other tortures.

This list will become the basis of an international investigation with the aim of introducing sanctions against them, notes The Moscow Times.
