
UEFA has announced that Istvan Kovac will referee the Champions League Round of 16 match between Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid on Tuesday at 22:00.
Istvan Kovacs will judge the match “Inter” – “Atletico”.
Kovac will be assisted by assistants Vasile Marinescu and Ovidiu Artene. Horatio Fesnik will be the fourth official, while Marko Fritz (Germany) and Katalin Popa will be in the VAR room.
This will be István Kovac’s fifth match officiating in the current Champions League season, following Newcastle v PSG 4-1, Arsenal v Sevilla 2-0, AC Milan v Borussia Dortmund 1-3 and “Porto” – “Shakhtar” 5:3.
So far they have played in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League:
FC Copenhagen – Manchester City 1-3
RB Leipzig – Real Madrid 0-1
PSG – Real Sociedad 2-0
Lazio Roma – Bayern Munich 1-0.
They have to play in the 1/8 final match:
- February 20, Tuesday, from 10 p.m
Inter Milan – Atletico Madrid
PSV Eindhoven – Borussia Dortmund
- February 21, Wednesday, from 10 p.m
FC Porto – Arsenal London
Naples – FC Barcelona.
