
The history of the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union, fueled or even created by the Cold War between the two superpowers, ended, as we all know, with an American victory through alienation on July 20, 1969. After that, the Russians managed to overcome all the barriers that had stood up to that time, and it was a little short of taking the face of the Americans and taking this historic step, small for a person, but huge for humanity.
Few people know that NASA and the Soviet space agency planned to join forces to take a step to the moon together. And no, it’s not just a nice and idealized scenario of Ukraine, starting with the question “what if?”. This is pure reality.
Although very little is known, the joint project was proposed years before actual selenization. The Russians and the Americans, bitter rivals in the space race and in everything that meant geopolitical strategy, had to forget their enmity and step side by side on the surface of the moon. The plan, which, unfortunately, was never implemented.
