Elizabeth Lipe: “I am firmly convinced that Simona Halep is innocent”

Last week, Simona Halep exhausted her only option to prove her innocence in the Roxadustat doping scandal at the 2022 US Open.

The former world leader was listened to on TAS for three days, and on Friday she also gave her first reaction to this topic.

Elisabeth Lipe, president of the National Sports Agency (ANS), said in an interview that she fully trusts Simona and that the athlete is innocent.

“If I knew Simona Halep’s chances at TAS, I would tell you, but God and those who judge her know what verdict they will give. I can only say that you should not be in her place, because psychologically it is not easy to go through something like this, especially when you know that you are innocent.

I firmly believe that she is innocent, because at Simona’s level, she could not be positively identified with such amateurism. But, unfortunately, the athlete leaves himself completely in the hands of his team, and when he gets into Simona’s situation, only the athlete is responsible for what is wrong.” – this is what he conveyed, reports Agerpres.
