Six people, including three policemen, were injured in a shootout outside an Istanbul court on Tuesday, and two of the attackers were fatally wounded, Reuters writes. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey, Ali Yerlikaya, announced an “attempted terrorist attack”.
According to Turkey’s interior minister, a man and a woman, members of the far-left Revolutionary People’s Liberation Front (DHKP-C) party, opened fire on a police checkpoint set up in front of a court in Istanbul.
“There was an attempted terrorist attack in front of Kaglayan’s court. It was determined that the two attackers who were neutralized were members of the DHKP-C terrorist organization,” a Turkish official wrote on the X platform, according to Reuters.
