
According to data released on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics, in the last quarter of 2023, the share of imported used cars in the total number of registrations increased even more (70.3%).
The winter of last year brought an increase in the number of registrations in all categories: in the category of mopeds and motorcycles – by 16.1%, in the category of passenger cars – by 6.4% and in the category of buses and minibuses – by 6.0%. Regarding the registration of new road vehicles for the transportation of passengers, the category of mopeds and motorcycles increased by 18.8% and the category of passenger cars decreased by 0.4%.
At the end of the IV quarter of 2023, 61.9% of vehicles with Euro 4, Euro 5 or Euro 6 pollution standards and 10.7% of cars with non-Euro pollution standards were in circulation
In the category of passenger cars, the largest share was made up of vehicles complying with the Euro 4 European norm, respectively 34.3%; for the category of buses and minibuses, the majority of vehicles, respectively 23.8%, are assigned to the Euro 3 standard, and for the category of mopeds and motorcycles, the majority of vehicles, respectively 26.0%, are assigned to the Non-Euro category.
New vehicle registrations include new vehicle registrations, including those purchased on lease, as well as used import vehicle registrations classified according to Community vehicle categories.
The data do not include re-registration due to the change of ownership due to the sale of vehicles, trams and trolleybuses, military equipment, agricultural trailers and residential equipment.
