Andrea Grecu won a silver medal in the monobob competition at the European Bobsleigh Championships, the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee reports.

Trained by Paul Nyagu Greku, he performed excellently on the track in Latvia. The leader after the first segment, with an explosive start (5.61 s), she gained a maximum speed of 112.32 km/h on the distance and crossed the finish line in 53.46.

In the second segment, Andrea started in the same way and withstood the pressure on the distance, where at the end she lost several hundredths, with a result of 54.27 seconds (the third time of the segment) she took 2nd place.

The victory was won by Lisa Buckwitz (Germany), who recovered fantastically in the second leg after a very good start. The famous Laura Nolte (Germany), the Beijing 2022 Olympic champion in doubles, won bronze.

The race was also important for the World Cup, Andrea won the same medal, silver. Together with her and two German women, the Olympic vice-champion in monobob, American Elana Meyers Taylor, who finished tied with Laura Nolte in 3rd place, also rose to the podium.

In the world ranking of monobob pilots, Andrea Grecu is in 5th place with 1114 points after 6 races in which she took 3rd, 6th, 7th, 7th, 4th and 2nd places, writes News.ro.
