
Prime Minister Marcel Cholaku and representatives of farmers and transporters from Afumati signed an agreement at Victoria Palace on Friday to end the protests after the head of government pledged to create an inter-ministerial committee to find the best solutions to the protesters’ demands.
After a new round of discussions with representatives of farmers and transporters at the government headquarters, the press service of the Prime Minister reported that the signed agreement provides that on Monday, February 5, by the decision of Prime Minister Marcel Cholaku, an inter-ministerial committee will be established on levels of the Prime Minister’s Office to analyze and find the best solutions to the demands of the protesters.
- “The committee will consist of representatives of relevant ministries and agrarians and transporters. Each minister will appoint a secretary of state from among their subordinates to sit on the committee and manage the issues reported. Specific cases related to one area will be conducted at the level of the relevant ministry together with the social partner. The purpose of the Committee is to consider the claims of farmers and transporters and develop specific proposals for solving problems in the relevant sectors of the economy.
- On the basis of this agreement, signed on behalf of the Government by the head of the executive power, Marcel Çolaku, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin Barbou, the head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mihai Gihiou, and the State Adviser to the Prime Minister, the Office of the Minister, Daniel Botanoiu, the representatives of the protesters will stop the actions protest both in the capital and in the territory.
