The Military Intelligence Service of Ukraine (MSU) reported on Thursday that its agents had sunk a Russian missile corvette of the Black Sea Fleet “Ivanovets” type “Tarantul” at night.

Ukrainian military intelligence released a video showing a naval drone approaching a ship and an explosion.

As a result of several direct hits to the ship’s hull, the corvette was damaged and sank.

The cost of the ship is approximately 60-70 million dollars.

Last July, Russia conducted military exercises during which it destroyed a naval target near Romanian territorial waters. After that, the crew of the “Ivanovets” missile corvette of the “Tarantul-III” class launched an anti-ship cruise missile from the “Moskit” complex at a possible enemy who violated the zone temporarily closed to shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.

Romania has repeatedly complained about Russian military incursions near the border with our country and illegal restrictions on international airspace and international waters in the northwestern Black Sea.

On May 18, Nicolae Chuke accused Russia of using the pretext of war to ban maritime traffic and flights east of Romania and called for a stronger NATO presence.
