
About 740 million lei will cost the construction of a new expressway in Romania, more precisely in the west of the country – an expressway with a length of about 11 km – called “Someș Expres” – between Satu Mare and Oar, on the border with Hungary. where it will connect with the M49 expressway in the neighboring country.
CNAIR has submitted for publication the Notice of Participation for the public procurement contract for the EXECUTION OF WORKS “VO Satu Mare EXPRESSWAY (VO Satu Mare) – Veslo (Romania-Hungary Border – M49 Hungary Expressway)” – RED FIDIC.
Fidic Roșu means that this is a work-only contract, the technical design has already been completed.
The estimated cost of the public procurement procedure is 738,220,928.60 lei without VATand the source of funding is non-refundable European funds through the Transport Program.
The deadline for accepting offers has been set 14.03.2024.
The term of work will be 24 months. The warranty period for the performance of work can vary from 60 to 120 months, depending on the rating factor.
- The express road Veslo – Satu Mare is named “Some Express” has a length of approx 10.83 km with 2 lanes of traffic in the direction with an estimated speed of 120 km/h, two interchanges, two parking lots (one on each side), traffic center, ITS system. The expressway will connect with the M49 expressway at the border with Hungary.
The start of the expressway is on the ring road of the municipality of Satu Mare, in a meadow, north of the DN19, between the Somesh bridge and the junction with the DN19, CNAIR said.
In this section, a type B “pipe” junction will be constructed, which will be inserted between the ties of the existing junction, which provides traffic exchange between the DN19 Satu Mare bypass and the bypass bridge over the Somesh River.

On the Romanian side, the Road Company has, during the last three years, developed a contract for the development of a feasibility study and a technical project of an expressway from Satu Mare (belt) to Oara (border with Hungary) with a length of about 11 kilometers.
The contract for SF and PT was signed and started in 2020 with Search Corporation for approximately 3.7 million lei.
