Danish prosecutor Anders Larsson confirmed at a hearing at the Court of Appeal in Copenhagen that the case “is connected to Hamas.”

No further details are available as the proceedings are closed.

On December 14, Denmark announced the arrest of three people as part of an investigation into a planned terrorist attack. In total, seven people are now suspected of involvement in this conspiracy.

After announcing this police operation in cooperation with the Danish Intelligence Services (PET), Israel said that the suspects arrested in Denmark were acting “on behalf of Hamas”.

The Danish authorities did not confirm this claim at the time.

“The terrorist threat looming over Denmark is unfortunately serious, but fortunately we have (…) competent and vigilant police and intelligence services that do everything in their power every day to ensure our safety.” – responded Minister of Justice Peter. Hummelgaard, quoted by the Ritzau agency.
