Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, responded with a three-letter post on Monday after The Wall Street Journal reported last weekend that executives at his companies were concerned that the South African billionaire was using illegal drugs.

“lol,” Musk simply tweeted Monday morning on X, the social media platform company he acquired last October.

When some of his nearly 170 million followers on “X” expressed surprise at his message, he wrote in a post an hour later that:

“TMZ (an unknown US tabloid site) has extremely higher standards than the WSJ (actually).”

In an article published Saturday, the WSJ cited sources who said they were close to Musk and his companies on condition of anonymity that the billionaire would worry executives and board members at Tesla and SpaceX. because he will consume illegal drugs.

The financial daily noted, citing alleged eyewitnesses, that Musk frequently used LSD, cocaine, ecstasy and hallucinogenic mushrooms at private parties. People close to Tesla Inc. and a SpaceX executive told the newspaper that Musk continues to use drugs, including ketamine.

In August, Musk said he had a prescription for ketamine as a drug.

The billionaire’s lawyer told the newspaper that his client is “regularly and randomly tested for drugs at SpaceX and has never failed a test,” according to NDTV World.
