Christopher Nolan accepted the award for directing on Sunday night at the 81st Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, according to the event’s X (formerly Twitter) account, as cited by Agerpres.

This is the first “Golden Globe” in Christopher Nolan’s career, which he received for the film “Oppenheimer”. He also received two directing nominations for Inception (2014) and Dunkirk (2018), respectively, and two screenwriting nominations for Inception and Oppenheimer, respectively.

Bradley Cooper – “The Maestro”, Greta Gerwig – “Barbie”, Yorgos Lanthimos – “The Poor”, Martin Scorsese – “Killers of Flower Moon” and Celine Song – “Past Lives” were also nominated in this category.

Last year, Steven Spielberg won the award for directing with the production “Fabelman”.

The ceremony, which took place on Sunday evening in Beverly Hills, is hosted by American comedian Joe Coy.

The Golden Globe Awards, first presented in 1944, honor the best performances and productions in film and television, grouped into 25 categories.
