The Manifesto exhibition, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Monica Lovinescu, will be open until February 4, 2024, and you can visit La Mița Biciclista Stabiliment Creativ, a building that has become a cultural and architectural icon in the center of Bucharest.
The fascinating exhibition, which takes you on a journey through the life of Monica Lovinescu and the exciting history of the 20th century, was visited by more than 15,000 people and became one of the most visited exhibitions in Bucharest. A large flow of people willing to get acquainted with the exposition forced the organizers to extend the review until the beginning of February, although it was supposed to close on December 30.
The exhibition is an invitation for everyone to face the present and their own recent past, a re-analysis of everything we inherited from the totalitarian regime in Romania: wounds, traumas, fears, guilt, harmful behavior on a personal, family or individual level, or on a collective level, as society. With the exhibition, Monica Lovinescu becomes a reference point that we need today more than ever, her values are the values on which our better world is based, in which we live, but which is again under threat in many parts of the world.
During the exhibition, photographs from the Paris archive, letters and personal belongings are presented to the public for the first time, and those present will be able to enjoy a series of emotional dialogues by Monica Lovinescu with Mircea Eliade, Eugene Ionescu, Virgil Yerunka, Angela Marinescu, Iryna Nicolau, Sorin Alexandrescu, Ana Blandiana or Octavian Paler.
Tickets are still available for both self-guided tours and tours. The experience offered by the exhibition is complemented by the beauty of Casa La Mița Biciclista, one of the symbolic buildings of the capital, with a facade dressed in festive clothes by the best team of florists in Europe, with cocktails created by a team of mixologists from Mița Biciclista, a night book establishment and famous salons that create a special atmosphere and give Bucharest a Parisian air.
The exhibition is organized by ARCEN through La Mița Biciclista Stabiliment Creativ with the support of Humanitas Aqua Forte Foundation and Humanitas publishing house. You can visit the exhibition and La Mița Biciclista Stabiliment Creativ every day, from Monday to Sunday.
