ASPA Bucharest recommends dog owners who lost their pet during the holidays to check the Facebook pages of the shelters in Bragadir and Mihailesti if it is not microchipped.
If you’ve lost a dog over the holidays, here’s what you can do, ASPA said on Facebook:
1. If your dog is microchipped and registered with the Register of Dog Owners (RECS), you must report its loss to RECS to any vet, also ensure your contact details, especially your RECS registered telephone number, are up to date. -date. If the dog was found by a person and taken to the veterinary service or picked up by the ASPA team, you will be able to be contacted by phone after the dog has been scanned.
2. If your dog is not microchipped, you will not be contacted if it is found or ends up in an ASPA shelter. Therefore, we recommend that you check the Facebook pages of our shelters daily: ASPA Bragadiru and ASPA Mihailesti. All dogs seized in public within the radius of the Bucharest municipality are photographed and posted on Facebook. Therefore, you will have to identify the lost dog yourself and contact us later to get it back.
3. You can post a lost dog ad with the phone number and photo of the dog in Facebook groups, hoping that someone who sees it on the street will report it to you.
ASPA teams work in the field every day, both on weekends and holidays. With the hope that all lost dogs find their families, look for them again on the ASPA shelter Facebook pages every day since the day you lost them.
