
The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) ended 2023 with a capitalization of more than 294 billion lei, a 49.2% increase compared to the end of last year, when the stock market capitalization was just over 197 billion lei.
In the last week of 2023, when there were only three trading sessions, the capitalization of the stock market increased by 1.2 billion lei, while the value of share transactions decreased by more than 309 million lei compared to the previous week
According to the data published by BVB, which was reviewed by Agerpres, in the period from December 27 to 29, deals with shares amounted to 94.7 million lei.
The best trading day at BVB was Friday, December 29, with a turnover of 34.9 million lei, while the worst day was Wednesday, December 27, with a turnover of 27.8 million lei.
The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange – BET – ended 2023 at 15,371.11 points.
Hidroelectrica shares were the most liquid securities in the BVB main segment with 17 million lei transactions and a price drop of 0.16%.
Fondul Proprietatea with deals worth almost 17 million lei (+5.02%) and Banca Transilvania with 11.3 million lei (+0.66%) are also in the lead.
UCM Resita (28.26%), Energopetrol (14.59%) and Condmag (+12.50%) recorded the greatest increase in quotations.
At the opposite pole, a significant fall was recorded by Prebet shares with a decrease of 5.79%, followed by Electroargeş shares (-5.6%) and Carbochim (-4%).
