Literally a month before his arrest by the prosecutors of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate, Dumitru Buzatu initiated a civil lawsuit against the Parliament of Romania and the General Secretariat of the Chamber of Deputies. In the statement, Buzatu asks to cancel the order of the State Security Council, which cancels the special pension he acquired during his time as a deputy.

The first appearance, which is generally an administrative hearing, was postponed after a request to abstain from the associate judge assigned to the case, Olivia-Luminitsa Kretz. It is no coincidence that she bears the same last name as the ex-wife of a social democrat. According to the Vaslui publication Vremea Nouă, the employee of the Vaslui court is the daughter-in-law of Dumitru Buzat, respectively the sister of the ex-wife of the politician, Senator Gabriela Kretsu.
