Police officers from Suceava determined that the accident in which two teenagers were injured was caused by a driver from Botosani, whose blood alcohol level was 0.49 mg/l of pure breath alcohol, writes News.ro.

“This evening, around 8:45 p.m., the police of Suceava Municipality were notified via SNUAU 112 about a traffic accident on the main boulevard of Suceava Municipality. During the first checks, it was established that a 28-year-old driver from Vakuleshti commune, Botosani county, was driving a car on Stefan cel Mare street in Suceava municipality from the direction of the center in the direction of Arena and hit two young people (a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy ) were making a legal crossing on the pedestrian markings of the pedestrian crossing in the area of ​​the polyclinic,” IPJ Suceava reported on Thursday evening.

According to the source, as a result, a 16-year-old minor received serious injuries, and a 17-year-old boy received minor injuries.

“The driver was tested with a breathalyzer, 0.49 mg/l of pure alcohol was detected in the exhaled air. The driver was also tested for doping, the result was negative. The driver was also taken to the medical department to take biological blood samples to accurately determine the level of alcohol in the blood,” IPJ Suceava also reported.

The police opened criminal proceedings on the grounds of intentional bodily harm and driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
