An employee of the local police of Satu Mare was arrested and accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl, who is the daughter of his girlfriend, for two years, portalsm.ro writes. Satu Mare city hall officials say the man was deemed fit for an annual psychological examination, which he underwent just this month.

The City Hall of Satu Mare said on Tuesday in a press release quoted by Agerpres that a day ago, police criminal investigation services arrested a 48-year-old man for the crime of sexual violence against a minor. He is an employee of the Satu Mare Local Police Dispatch Office as non-operational staff performing specific dispatch activities, the agency said.

• “It should be noted that he did not raise suspicions at the level of the institution, carrying out his professional activities correctly, without recording any disciplinary violations.
• At an annual psychological examination conducted in early December of this year, he was found fit, and had not been reported by a psychologist to have behavioral problems at the present time or in previous years.
• After the judicial authorities took measures to keep him in custody, he was removed from his post until the investigation is completed and the necessary measures are taken. The leadership of the local police of Satu Mare does not tolerate any behavior on the part of the employees and takes strict measures against all those who violate specific legal norms”, adds the municipality of Satu Mare.
