Authorities in Arges County are searching Sunday for the body of a 53-year-old man from Bucharest whose hand was found in a deserted area with animal bite marks. A body is also being searched at the Dragoslavele Dam, News.ro reports.

According to ISU Argeş, a fire brigade is involved in the search in the city of Dragoslavele.

In order to find the body of the 53-year-old man, a search is also underway at the Dragoslavele dam with the help of a rescue boat from firefighters from the Kampulung unit.

The remains of a human hand were found in the uninhabited area of ​​Dragoslavele, Arges County, showing traces of animal bites. The police opened an investigation and established that he is a 53-year-old man from Bucharest who has a criminal record.

“After collecting fingerprints from the fragment of the right upper limb, found on the night of December 8-9 in Dragoslavele commune, and entering them into the database, the police managed to establish the person to whom it belongs, namely: a 53-year-old man, lives in the city of Bucharest. It was also established that the man has a criminal record,” IPJ Argeş reported on Saturday.

Investigations in this case are continuing to identify the rest of the body. The police expanded checks in the settlements of the person’s previous residence.

After studying the database of fingerprints, investigators found out that they belong to a person previously convicted of murder, ProTV News reports.

The police established that the hand belonged to a man who had been dead for about 3-5 days.
