
The pair consisting of Monica Niculescu and the Iberian Cristina Bucha won the “WTA 125” tournament in Angers (France), beating the team of Anna Danilina / Oleksandr Panova in the final.
Monica and Christina (an athlete born in Chisinau) needed only 64 minutes to win 6-1, 6-3.
In the WTA doubles ranking, Niculescu and Bucha will each receive 5,220 euros and 160 points, while Danilina and Panova will each receive 3,740 euros and 95 points.
Ranked 41st in the WTA doubles rankings, Monica Niculescu added her 11th title to her resume (she played 23 more finals).
The last doubles trophy won was in 2021, when Monika and Anna-Lena Fridsam won in Nur-Sultan.
In the singles final in Angers, French women Clara Burel (60 WTA, favorite 2) and Chloe Paquet (186 WTA) will meet.
