On Saturday evening, a large fire broke out in the courtyard of a shopping center, where a supermarket also operates, in Cluj-Napoca. Customers of the commercial premises were evacuated and advised to leave the area. The flames have been contained, News.ro reports.
According to ISU Cluj, the flames are contained, there is no longer a threat of spreading, and work is underway to extinguish hidden flares.
However, “considering that there is still smoke in the parking lots and in the premises of the commercial complex, a recommendation was sent to the customers to leave the facility in order,” ISU Cluj clarified.
Firefighters from Cluj-Napoca Unit 1 intervened with four fire engines to extinguish the flames, which contained several materials stored in the inner courtyard (where the goods arrive) of the commercial complex on Alexandru Vajda Voivode Street.
According to the source, no one has sought medical help so far.
