In a post on social media platform X, a Ukrainian official said that the government is now focusing on increasing domestic weapons production and speeding up negotiations with partners to increase military supplies.

“Undoubtedly, winter and the analysis of our and the enemy’s resource capabilities require tactical adjustments. On the front lines and in the cities, we are already moving to other tactics of waging war, effective defense in certain directions, continuation of offensive operations in other directions, special strategic operations on the Crimean Peninsula and in the Black Sea, significantly reformed anti-missile defense of critical infrastructure,” Podolyak noted. .

Zelenskyi’s advisor emphasized that this cold season, Ukraine is better prepared to resist Russian attacks aimed at energy infrastructure.

“This year we see that the enemy has put more emphasis on drones. The winter will be difficult, given that Russia has absolutely no regard for international law, conventions and rules of war, deliberately mass attacking the civilian population, but Ukrainians are ready, given the experience of last winter.

The Ukrainian official noted that Ukraine needs more military equipment, and Kyiv wants to increase the production of weapons.

“Now all our resources are directed at increasing the domestic production of weapons and speeding up negotiations with partners to increase supplies of the necessary equipment for the new stage of offensive operations. First of all, additional anti-missile defense systems, as well as long-range missiles, drones and electronic warfare systems,” said Podolyak.

President Zelenskyi’s adviser summarized that “the stage of the war is clear, the needs are obvious, optimal tactical adjustments are being made, and negotiations with partners are actively underway.”

The White House’s grim warning: the US is running out of money to help Ukraine fight Russia

White House Budget Director Shalanda Young warned in a letter Monday to Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson and other congressional leaders that the United States is running out of time and money to help Ukraine, which is fighting a war with Russia, Reuters reported.

In October, President Joe Biden’s administration asked Congress for nearly $106 billion in funding for ambitious border security plans for Ukraine, Israel, and the United States.

Republicans control the House of Representatives by a slim majority, and funding for Ukraine has become politically controversial for some right-wing lawmakers.

In a letter published by the White House, Young said that cutting off funding and arms to Ukraine would increase the likelihood of Russian victories.

“I want to be clear: without action from Congress, by the end of the year we will run out of resources to purchase additional weapons and equipment for Ukraine and to provide equipment from the US military arsenal,” Young wrote.

“There is no magic pot of funds to deal with this moment. I’ve run out of money – and almost no time.”

The United States is the largest donor of military aid to Ukraine with a total of $44.2 billion since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, according to AFP.

The latest military aid to Ukraine from the United States, worth $100 million, was announced two weeks ago and includes air defense equipment, AFP reports.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced a new package of US military aid after a meeting with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, who made an unannounced visit to Kyiv.
