In his address, which he gives every evening, Zelenskyi told Ukrainians that he had visited Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson. “There are many problems, almost all of them relate to security, the protection of our state, the protection of our people,” the Kyiv resident admitted.
He said that he held a meeting with the army in Odesa and discussed air defense for the city, for the region, for Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea and for the export corridor that Ukraine has built on the Black Sea. “I would like to thank everyone who is protecting the region and working to add air defense in the south,” Zelenskyy said.
The President also held a detailed meeting on the regions most affected by bad weather. Among them are Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Poltava and Kyiv. “We have given instructions to increase the number of repair crews and equipment as soon as possible to provide people with electricity. If there is a need, we will involve the forces of the State Emergency Service and electricians from other regions where there were no such problems with the weather,” Zelenskyi said.
He said it was vital that the number of Points of Invincibility in all regions – the centers that Ukraine established last winter when it suffered waves of Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure – was sufficient for any emergency, whether weather or security. .
In Odesa, where there is no heat because bad weather damaged the thermal power plant, Zelensky assured that the regional government is ready to help the city with everything it needs.
Also in Odesa, Zelensky said that he visited the center for displaced persons, where citizens evacuated from Gaza were taken, and was satisfied.
In Mykolaiv, Zelenskyi met with Danes working on the reconstruction of the city, and with representatives of the diplomatic corps of countries participating in the reconstruction patronage program. The president also held a “very emotional and important” meeting with students of three universities in Mykolaiv. “We are doing everything possible to make our country, our entire people stronger and always free,” Zelensky promised.
In Kherson, the president was interested in the defense capability of the city and the region, and the local leadership presented him with the situation with the construction of shelters.
