PSG has activated the purchase condition of Gonzalo Ramos – the forward remains at Parc des Princes until 2028

Luis Enrique’s side have been on the lookout for a top striker in the summer amid uncertainty over stars Kylian Mbappe.

The Parisians have turned to Gonzalo Ramos, the 106-game, 41-goal player for Benfica Lisbon, who capped a perfect final tournament in Qatar with a hat-trick in the round of 16 against Switzerland.

Restricted by Financial Fair Play rules and under threat of possible sanctions from UEFA, PSG signed him on loan for one season with the option of a permanent transfer in exchange for €65 million.

According to an announcement published on social networks, seven months before the end of the loan period, the French decided to activate the clause.

“Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce that it has exercised the option to purchase Gonzalo Ramos. The Portuguese forward is now tied to the club until 2028,” PSG announced.

Ramos, valued at €50m, has two goals and one assist in 15 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain.
