The heads of the member states of the Visegrad Group (V4) will organize a summit in Prague on Wednesday, the administration of the Czech president announced on Monday. At the invitation of the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, the heads of state of Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia, Andrzej Duda, Katalin Novak, and Zuzana Čaputová, respectively, will arrive in Prague. The meeting will take place in the Prague Citadel, reports Hirado, quoted by Rador Radio Romania.

According to the press release of the press service of the Prague City Hradcany district, the four heads of state will analyze the latest projects of the International Visegrad Fund and exchange views on international issues.

According to the presidential administration in Prague, the Visegrad Group is considered by the Czech Republic as a central European platform suitable for the development of good neighborly relations. “Cooperation should be practical, serve the interests of the peoples of the four countries”; this is also indicated by the motto of the Czech presidency: “V4 for citizens”, also stated in the statement quoted by the press agency of the Czech Republic.

The Visegrad International Fund, which currently disposes of 10 million euros per year, supports better mutual understanding between the populations of the four countries through cultural projects and scientific and educational cooperation.

The International Visegrad Fund was founded by four countries (Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia), and the financial resources necessary for its operation are provided equally by these countries.

According to the press release of the Administration of the President of the Czech Republic, the Visegrad heads of state will discuss programs related to the Western Balkans and the countries of the Eastern Partnership, as well as the possibility of helping to eliminate the consequences of Russia’s attack on Ukraine. .

The topic of the meeting will also be ensuring the modern economic development of B4 and the stability of the region, as well as cross-border cooperation.
