Conspiracy TV Global News, hosted by Adrian Bakhmuceanu and Mugur Mihaescu, was sanctioned by CNA after it aired a series of misinformation related to health, the pandemic or the war in Ukraine. Among the statements that caused the broadcast to be suspended for 10 minutes were the following: “Sodium bicarbonate cures all forms of cancer” or that “underground bases are being built in Ukraine, where stolen children are taken and sold in the trade.”
In particular, CNA obliges Global News to publish on 11/22/2023 within 10 minutes from 19:00 to 19:10 only the text of the decision on the application of sanctions.
Members of the Council determined that the programs “Effect of Politics” (issues of 07, 14, 21.09.2023) and “Tochnoye Novosti” (issue of 12.09.2023) violated the provisions of Art. 3 paragraph (2) of the Law on Audiovisual Media No. 504/2002, according to which “all providers of audiovisual media services are obliged to provide the public with objective information by correctly presenting facts and events and to promote the free formation of opinions.”
- Among the topics covered in the “Political Effect” program of September 7, 2023, there was one related to the conflict in Ukraine, about what will happen: “The Nazi movement, which is especially manifested through the organization “Azov””; “Biolaboratories, where biological weapons are created, through which pandemics are instrumented, as we saw the so-called COVID-19”; “Deep underground bases have been built in Ukraine, where stolen children are taken and traded, many atrocities are committed there.”
- In the edition dated 09/14/2023 it was stated that “… it has been scientifically proven that sodium bicarbonate in warm water with a small amount of squeezed lemon practically cures all forms of cancer”, and in the edition of 09/21/2023 that “.. .5G technology is a weapon that kills us slowly but surely. It is about certain frequencies, certain energies that are very, very toxic, very harmful to health. In addition, (…) scientists believe that 5G technology has the ability to activate certain nanotechnological or other components that have been included in the so-called serum against COVID, COVID-19, in these vaccines.”
- In the Stirea exacta broadcast of 09/12/2023, the guest states: Or, we know very well that vaccinated people give off certain Mac codes, so they are used for control, to monitor body functions, and maybe when you are no longer useful for your society, at some point you push a button and you go.”
10,000 lei fine due to Global News broadcasting from a different studio than the one declared
In addition, on November 14, the National Audiovisual Council fined the television 10,000 lei for broadcasting from a different studio than the one it declared to the audiovisual forum, according to Paginademedia.
The station broadcasts from an unauthorized studio, not from Casa Presei Libere as stated in CNA’s documentation.
CNA officials went to monitor the claimed studio, located in Casa Presei Libere, even as the station was broadcasting the news program Stirile Global News live, labeled live. But surprisingly, the CNA officials couldn’t find anyone to do the news.
Global News, Sanctions via Mugur Mihăescu
Mugur Mihescu, announced as the candidate of the AUR party in the European Parliament elections and the producer of the show “Smile of Democracy” on the Global News station, also attracted sanctions against the TV channel on November 8, Paginademedia writes.
The National Audiovisual Council sanctioned Global News with a summons (warning) through Mugur Mihaescu because he was nominated as a candidate by the AUR (Alliance of the Romanian Union), and according to the Audiovisual Code, “persons who are publicly designated to run or who have publicly declared their intention to run for local, parliamentary or presidential elections, cannot broadcast”.
The summons is for several editions of the show “Smile of Democracy” on October 15, 22 and 29 with Mugur Mihaescu and Dino Popescu (co-host).
