In short, as HotNews.ro wrote in recent weeks, IT professionals are exempt from income tax (10%) and from contributions to the second level of pensions (3.75%) in the amount of 10,000 lei. Everything that comes in is paid for as usual.

In this guide, the tax office has also published a calculation formula as an example.

We will remind, according to the mentioned Law, in 2028 opportunities for IT specialists will disappear.

If IT professionals wish to continue making Pillar II contributions of 10,000 lei, they must apply to their employer.

They will have an impact later when they retire, but it comes down to everyone’s financial knowledge, personal outlook on the future, and current need for money. They can choose to transfer this money to Tier III or to an investment fund if they are thinking long term.
