Mathematically, the Serb cannot catch up with Carlos Alcaraz, so Nole will end the ATP season as the world leader for the eighth time.

We are, of course, talking about the record, no player in the history of tennis managed to achieve what Joker managed (you can not finish the season in the first place for eight times).

In fact, at the age of 36, Nole managed to win three Grand Slam titles in 2023 (Australian Open, Roland Garros, US Open), and at Wimbledon he lost in the final to Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic ends the week at number 400 at the top of the ATP rankings, a unique result (absolute record).

1st place in the ATP at the end of the season

1 Novak Djokovic 8

2 Pete Sampras 6

3 Roger Federer / Jimmy Connors / Rafael Nadal 5 etc.

“One of the best, if anything, but not necessarily the best (Season #). To win three Grand Slams, reach the final of the fourth and think that it was not the best season is a bit comical, isn’t it?

But this is definitely one of the best. 2011 and 2015 were also very good seasons. But then I played more tournaments. I won a few matches and really felt like I was dominating the circuit.

This year is different. I played 10 or 11 tournaments. I played very well, better than most other players. I chose the right tournaments at the right time.

It was one of my best seasons at a Grand Slam. I haven’t lost a match since the Wimbledon final. I feel good on the court, but it’s hard to compare seasons,” Novak Djokovic.
