In a statement to the press on the occasion of the end of the election campaign in Sunday’s local elections, the Chisinau leader spoke about “Kremlin-paid parties disguised as pro-European parties” who, illegally buying votes, “will try to subordinate Moldova to some foreign interests”, according to Agerpres.

“Each successful project means a stronger, more developed Moldova, it gives us hope that we can succeed. We do not rest on our laurels, on the contrary, we know that serious challenges await us. Even in these local elections, pro-Kremlin forces, pro-war forces will try to do everything possible to block our European path. With the help of dirty money, parties paid by the Kremlin, disguised as pro-European parties, through illegal vote buying, they will again try to subjugate Moldova to foreign interests and leave our country in a zone forgotten by the world. State institutions will protect democracy. But only your voice can be stronger than attempts to sell Moldova”, – said Maia Sandu.

The President of the Republic of Moldova emphasized the need for voter participation in Sunday’s elections.

“It is very important that we all vote! Let’s build tomorrow’s European Moldova with our vote. Our common goal is to build European villages and cities. We will succeed if we all work towards this goal. And it depends on our vote on November 5,” added Sandu.

The head of Moldova also spoke about the importance of voting in Sunday’s local elections in the context of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

“Today, Moldova is taking great steps towards European integration, and we have a chance to become EU members thanks to your vote, dear citizens. Every vote was counted in the previous elections so that we now have a real chance to become members of the European family where people live in peace and prosperity. Despite the enormous obstacles, despite the corrupt authoritarian regime that ruled the country through fear, despite the propaganda of the Kremlin, the people came out victorious and we realized how important our voice is. On November 5, in the local elections, the power of our voice is just as great. Mayors, local and district councils will be elected in Moldova. In the next four years, how we will live in our locality will depend on the mayors and councilors we elect now. Whether our community will have a good road or not, whether the kindergarten will be repaired, water and sewage will be installed or not, depends on the vote we will vote on Sunday, on which people we will choose to lead our villages and towns. will carry out local projects, or the village will remain in disarray and decay. And it depends on us, residents of villages and cities. It is up to us not to leave settlements in the hands of thieves or liars. The choice of those who love their home and nation depends on us,” said the President of the Republic of Moldova.
