Atletico Madrid lost to Las Palmas after 6 straight league wins

Atlético Madrid lost the opportunity to match Girona and Real Madrid in the standings.

Diego Simeone’s side lost away to Las Palmas on Friday night despite having plenty of chances to score.

In the first half, both sides conceded, and in the 51st minute, the hosts opened the scoring thanks to the Spaniard Kirian.

Despite making 4 substitutions immediately after his team’s goal, Simeone was uninspired and the scorers were all from Las Palmas.

Benito Ramirez made it 2-0 with a quarter of an hour to go, but Morata’s scorer reduced the gap (83rd minute). However, it was not enough for Madrid to get a positive result.

With this win, Las Palmas have 17 points and move up to 9th place, while Atletico remain in 3rd place with 25 points.
