Later, in a video message, Zelensky presented Lupanchuk as an experienced officer with combat experience who can contribute to the effectiveness of special forces, reports Agerpres.

This is the second personnel change in the military leadership of Kyiv since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022.

Zelensky specified that General Viktor Gorenko, who will be replaced by Lupanchuk, will perform special tasks as part of the Military Intelligence Service of Ukraine (MUR).

Gorenko held this position since the end of July last year.

There is no public information about his successor, Ukrainian media reports.
