Craig Mohiber, director of the New York office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said in the letter that Gaza is a textbook case of genocide.

Mohiber said he lived in Gaza while working for the United Nations on human rights in the 1990s.

He accused the United States, Great Britain and European countries of politically and diplomatically covering up Israel’s atrocities.

In the letter, which began with a statement he said would be his last official communication in office, Mokiber wrote that after witnessing what happened in Rwanda, Bosnia and to the ethnic Rohingya in Myanmar, the U.N. repeatedly failed to stop the genocide.

“High Commissioner, we will fail again,” he added. The letter was sent to UN human rights chief Volker Türk in Geneva.

A spokesman for the UN Secretary General said Mohiber is resigning from Tuesday.

With a yellow star on the chest: And Israel blames the UN and talks about the Holocaust

According to the Times of Israel, during a UN Security Council meeting on Monday dedicated to the war between Israel and Hamas, UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan compared the current moment to the Holocaust.

“Some of you haven’t learned anything in the last 80 years. Some of you have forgotten what this body was created for. So, let me remind you. From this day forward, every time you look at me, you will remember what it means to be silent in the face of evil,” said Erdan.

“Like my grandparents and the grandparents of millions of Jews, from now on my team and I will wear yellow stars. We will wear this star until you wake up and condemn the atrocities committed by Hamas.” , – said an Israeli official.
