An unofficial demonstration campaign was held on some streets and boulevards of the capital, where numerous posters depicting Israelis and about Israelis abducted from their homes by Hamas terrorists appeared on poles, billboards and other urban furniture.

The posters are captioned in white on a red background, KIDNAPPED, and then each poster features photos and details of the abductee, other person or family.

  • “On October 7, 2023, nearly 200 innocent civilians were abducted from Israel and taken captive to the Gaza Strip. Even now, it is not known where they are being held.
  • More than 3,000 people (women, men and children aged 3 months to 85 years) were wounded, killed, beaten, raped and brutally separated from their families by Hamas,” the statement said.

The ad also includes the message “Please help us bring them back to life”, the hashtag #KidnappedFromIsrael and a qrcode with a link to the website kidnappedfromisrael.com

This website publishes all the stories and photos of those kidnapped by Hamas. The project says that “the posters were created by a small group of Israelis based in New York, led by artists Nitzan Mintz and Dede Bandeid, and designed by Tal Huber in partnership with Shira Gershoni.”

“Artists in Tel Aviv, witnessing the horrors of this war while far from their friends and families in Israel, decided to take immediate action. This campaign is unfunded and has now become one of the most widespread pieces of public guerrilla art in history as it continues to spread with new poster images appearing on streets, train stations, universities, protests and beyond.” shown on the website.

The armed conflict between Israel and the Islamist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip entered the 13th day. So far, official reports confirm that around 1,400 Israelis and around 3,500 Palestinians have been killed.
