Mario Iorgulescu (28 years old) was finally sentenced to 13 years and eight months in prison for a fatal accident he caused while driving under the influence of drugs. The son of Gino Iorgulescu, a former football player and club manager, and now the president of the Professional Football League, not in Romania, but in Italy.

Mario Iorgulescu’s defense refers to the alleged mental problems that his client may have had, and claims that even three courts in Italy have decided that the son of the LPF president should not be imprisoned.

“We will appeal to the competent authorities, it is not normal when a sick person is judged or sent to prison in the conditions in which he has so many irreversible diseases. Extraordinary appeals are also being prepared, and we are thinking about the ECHR. I haven’t made a decision at this point
