Sandro Tonali admitted that he is addicted to gambling

Sandro Tonali recently left Italy’s national team training camp alongside Niccolo Zaniolo after prosecutors swooped in and held talks with Coverciano in the context of a massive betting scandal in Italian football.

Tonali recently confirmed his gambling addiction but said he never bet on football matches, especially Milan matches.

Having paid 70 million euros for the transfer of Tonali this summer, the club “Newcastle” reacted to the scandal with the Italian.

“Newcastle United can confirm that Sandro Tonali is under investigation by Italian prosecutors and the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) in connection with illegal betting activities.

Sandro is fully committed to the investigation and will continue to cooperate with all relevant authorities. He and his family will continue to enjoy the club’s full support.

Due to this ongoing process, Sandro and Newcastle United are unable to provide any further comment at this time.” – says the club’s official press release.
