Several attacks by protesters on the Israeli and US embassies in different parts of the world were reported after the explosion of a hospital in Gaza, which led to hundreds of deaths, in the context of the ongoing conflict between the Palestinian Authority and the Islamist group Hamas, reports EFE.

The largest demonstrations took place in Istanbul, Turkey, where a crowd carrying pro-Palestinian flags and placards gathered in front of the Israeli consulate on Tuesday evening before entering its premises after breaking through a police barricade. Turkish state news agency Anadolu showed demonstrators waving Palestinian flags and chanting “Down with Israel!”.

Incidents also occurred at the US Embassy in Beirut (Lebanon), the US Embassy in Iraq, the Israeli Embassy in Jordan, the French Embassy in Tehran (Iran), and the British Embassy in the same country.

In a southern suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut, controlled by Hezbollah, thousands of people gathered for a protest, waving Hezbollah, Palestinian and Lebanese flags and chanting “Death to America” ​​and calling for the bombing of Tel Aviv.

“This entity (Israel), as we know very well, is built on mass murder,” senior Hezbollah official Hesham Safiddin told the rally.

In central Beirut, police fired tear gas and water cannons against protesters who threw projectiles, while a protest near the US embassy north of Beirut turned violent, according to footage broadcast by Lebanese al-Jadeed television.

France’s foreign ministry announced on Wednesday that it is advising its citizens not to travel to Lebanon unless it is not possible to do so, given the “security tensions in the region”, particularly on South Lebanon’s border with Israel.

In Iran, the state news agency IRNA showed a crowd in Tehran chanting “Down with Israel”. The Iranian government declared a day of mourning on Wednesday. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman strongly condemned the attack and blamed Israel. Crowds marched in front of the British embassy waving Palestinian flags. There were also protests in front of the French embassy.

In Amman, demonstrators tried to attack the Israeli embassy, ​​the official Jordanian news agency Petra reported. Jordanian security sources denied reports of an assault on the building. According to sources, the protesters were driven out of the area. In a video on social networks, protesters can be seen shouting outside the embassy.

In Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, hundreds of people protested outside the French embassy after the incident, state news agency TAP reported. In Baghdad, Iraq, according to eyewitnesses, hundreds of people gathered in the city center.
