Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said about the situation with Romanians in the Gaza Strip that they are people with dual citizenship, News.ro reports.

“No one could. Absolutely no one has left the Gaza Strip at the moment,” said the head of the executive power, clarifying that “there are groups in the Crisis Center, and they communicate with almost every one of them.”

“The moment you call the embassy and consulate, you automatically leave your phone and that’s when this communication started. Among those who asked for evacuation,” explained Cholaku.

The prime minister did not want to say whether these people had already arrived in the south. “There is no point in going into details that could harm these people. He communicates with this group of Romanians who asked for help from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Romania. I firmly believe that in the end we will succeed, we all work together,” said Cholaku.

The head of executive power also noted that this is a very dynamic conflict zone.

“I think it’s our responsibility to stay calm and make the right and very well-founded decisions, and to have an agreed plan, I repeat, also with other states,” Marcel told Cholaku.

“At the moment there is no reason to worry about their lives,” he wanted to clarify, showing that they all hope that these Romanians will arrive in Romania as soon as possible.

200 Romanians from the Gaza Strip want to evacuate

200 Romanians living in the Gaza Strip have appealed to the authorities in Bucharest for help, TVR News reports.

Most Romanians in the Gaza Strip belong to mixed Romanian-Palestinian families.

Many of them have already left the south and arrived in the city of Rafah, on the border with Egypt, say members of the Romanian-Palestinian community.

“We have in mind 350 Romanian citizens, of which approximately 200 have turned to us for evacuation support. Of course, this was impossible up to this point, given the situation on the ground. But, of course, when the window of opportunity appears, we will try to get them out of there,” MAE spokesman Radu Filip said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday evening that amid the deteriorating security situation in the State of Israel and the Gaza Strip, the Crisis Center is continuing its ongoing efforts to safely evacuate Romanian citizens from the Gaza Strip, whom they have informed the Romanian Mission in Ramallah about the evacuation, Agerpres reports. .

Thus, the MAE, through the Embassy of Romania in Tel Aviv, the representation of Romania in Ramallah and the Romanian diplomatic missions in the region, supports coordination with other states and international organizations that take similar measures against their citizens or officials.

The IEA also continues dialogue with the authorities of Israel and Egypt in order to ensure the necessary conditions for the evacuation of Romanian citizens, taking into account the development of events in the security sphere.
