Italy had a big success against Malta in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, managing to win 4-0 in the Group C match.

Hungary, important success against Serbia

The Italian national football team took a breather in the race to qualify for the 2024 European Championship by beating Malta 4-0 at the San Nicola Stadium.

Giacomo Bonaventura opened the scoring in the 23rd minute of the game for Luciano Spalletti’s team, and Domenico Berardi increased the home team’s advantage in extra time of the first half (min. 45+1), from Barella’s pass.

In the second half, the same Berardi scored 3:0 in the 64th minute, and the final score was set by Davide Frattesi (90+3).

Thanks to this victory, Italy rose to second place in the standings of Group C, surpassing Ukraine by goal difference (10 points). Malta remains without points in this group.

The same evening, Hungary beat Serbia 2-1 at the Puskas Arena thanks to goals from Barnabas Varga (20th minute) and Roland Sallai (34th minute). Strakhinya Pavlovich scored for the guests (min. 33).
