Four players of the Paris Saint-Germain team have been suspended for one game each for homophobic chants, the French Professional Football League (IFL) announced.
Kolo Mouani, Dembele, Hakimi and Kurzawa are suspended for homophobic chants
During last year’s Ligue 1 match against Olympique de Marseille at the Parc des Princes, PSG fans could be heard celebrating with homophobic chants directed at their opponents, and according to reports, Randal Kolo Mouani, Ousmane Dembele, Ashraf Hakimi and Lewin Kurzawa were involved.
According to Reuters, the players will be suspended from October 10, and the Auteuil stand at the Parc des Princes will be closed for the next game.
“The Disciplinary Committee has chosen an excessive and collective measure which is likely to undermine the dialogue and prevention work carried out by the club with associations, institutions and fans”. PSG explained in a statement, adding that he would not appeal.
