Koko, the third favorite in Beijing, won after a game lasting one hour and 47 minutes.

With Thursday’s victory, Gauff made it an impressive 15-game winning streak at the world tournament. The last defeat dates back to the quarters of WTA Toronto, where she was defeated by Jessica Pegula (doubles partner).

Since then, Gauff has won titles in Cincinnati (WTA 1000) and the US Open (Grand Slam).
