A second British police force announced on Monday that it had opened an investigation into allegations of harassment and stalking against actor and comedian Russell Brand, Reuters reported, citing Agerpres.

Last month, Britain’s Sunday Times and Channel 4 Dispatches reported that four women had accused Russell Brand, 48, of sex crimes, including rape, allegedly committed between 2006 and 2013.

Brand has denied the “very serious criminal allegations”, writing on his social media accounts that he has never engaged in non-consensual sex.

London police said last week that they had launched an investigation into a series of allegations of sexual offenses allegedly committed earlier in the capital and elsewhere in the country following the reports.

On Monday, following new reports from the British tabloid Daily Mail and the BBC, Thames Valley Police, which covers the area in northwest London, said it was investigating allegations made by a woman against Russell Brand between 2018 and 2022.

“Thames Valley Police has received new information over the past two weeks regarding allegations of harassment and stalking dating back to 2018,” the agency said in a statement, adding that “this information is being investigated; as such, it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation.”

Brand representatives did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment on the new information.
