On Monday, the executive power will decide on the allocation of 50 million lei from the reserve fund to pay the salaries of more than 2,000 employees of the Hunedoara energy complex, Prime Minister Marcel Çolaku announced on Monday. at the beginning of the Government meeting.

A new company appears in Valea Jiului

“In Valea Jiului, we are now talking about 2,000 miners, up from 55,000 in 1990. Hunedoara Energy Complex is on the verge of bankruptcy and we are looking for a solution that will be very short-term, and together with Valea Jiului Energy Complex we can save this development and we will make the mines safe until 2032,” Sebastián Burduha, Minister, recently told DC NEWS energy industry

The Ministry of Energy is preparing for the commissioning of the new company Valea Jiului Energy Complex by autumn. In this sense, it is necessary to establish a payment procedure from Hunedoara energy complex to Valea Giului energy complex.

Why the government is gathering for the miners of Valea Jiului

The Ministry of Energy announced a few days ago that it is preparing two GDs through which 50 million lei will be allocated from the budget reserve fund available to the Prime Minister to finance the new company Complexul Energetic Valea Jiului SA and through which the Service of General Economic Interest regarding mine safety and coal mining activities in the Jiului Valley.

For the provision of a service of public interest by the company Societatea Complexul Energetic Valea Jiului SA in the remaining months of 2023, a fair compensation of 65,804,000 RON will be provided, which is fully covered from the state budget through the budget of the Ministry of Energy. , to support costs of units in the process of closure, costs that are not related to current production.

Complexul Energetic Valea Jiului SA will receive the functional assets of Complexul Energetic Hunedoara SA in the next period. 2000 miners and staff of Complexul Energetic Hunedoara SA will be employed in the new complex.
