He says that he will try by all legal means to prevent the activities of the company that collects geophysical data for Romgaz, noting that in personal conversations he was assured that explosives would not be used, but we were “lied to.” According to the mayor, the company plans to survey more than 90% of the territory of the commune.

Mikesasa Mayor Timotei Pecurar says he is well aware of the company’s “controversial history,” recalling the company’s conflicts with local residents 10 years ago. At the same time, he says that in a recent discussion with representatives of the Prospecciones SA company, the mayor directly asked if they intended to use explosives in their work, clarifying that he was assured that this would not happen. “However, the company’s employees later confirmed that they would use explosives, thereby revealing a significant discrepancy between the information received and the reality on the ground,” the mayor told us.

He also asked the residents of the commune to block the company’s activities.
