An illegally parked car was destroyed by employees of a Cluj-Napoca tow truck after they tried to take the car from public access, the car’s owner has alleged.
The woman complained that her car was destroyed, which was lifted from the street in Cluj-Napoca by the employees of the Autonomous Administration of the Public Domain, Cluj24 reports.
- “How is it possible that in 2023 the City Hall of Cluj-Napoca instructs the RADP through a car recovery service to pick up cars with old equipment that are not maintained and not insured in case they damage the car. the vehicles they pick up? How far does the City Hall’s indifference to taxpayers go?
- They took our car parked at Tipografiei (the reason is also disputed, but that’s another story – we can debate) and because “it was too heavy” they couldn’t unload it from the platform in the RADP yard, so they called a crane to help, belonging to the RADP and managed to remove it from the platform and drop a crane boom onto the vehicle, destroying it.
- Of course, they have an optional insurance policy that covers damages up to a maximum of 15,000 euros per event, which in our case does not cover only part of the damage.
- I ask, how does the City Hall of Cluj-Napoca have the right to authorize companies that pose a danger to citizens’ property and assume this without checking that they perform the mandatory services with the appropriate equipment and property insurance?” says the affected woman from Cluj . .
RADP representatives told Cluj24 that they have launched an internal investigation to check what happened and whether negligence on the part of the service will be confirmed.
“An insurance claim has been activated and a claim has been made for the car owner to receive compensation,” the RADP said (Photo Source: Dreamstime).
