Olympic Marseille officially presented Gennaro Gattuso

The Spaniard Marcelino, who was appointed to the reserve bench of the French in the summer, lasted only three months and after a meeting between the leaders of the fans and the club’s management, he decided to leave the team.

Gennaro Gattuso has been appointed as manager by the officials after a week in which Marseille were beaten 4-0 by PSG in emphatic fashion.

“I am very happy and proud to have joined Olympique Marseille. This is the place where I had the opportunity to play as a footballer, a stadium recognized throughout Europe for the passion it radiates.

I can’t wait to work in my new team and accept the future challenges that await us,” Gattuso told the club’s official website.

The former Italy international has coached Palermo, OFI Creta, Pisa, AC Milan, Napoli and Valencia, from whom he was sacked in January after the Spanish side reached the relegation zone.

As a coach, Gennaro Gattuso has only one trophy to his credit – the Coppa Italia won with Napoli in 2020.
