The Tudor Arghezi metro station is still not open, although the work was completed last year, in December, as announced by the Sector 4 City Hall, and the deadline promised by Metrorex at the time to put it into operation was April.
“After the working meetings that took place recently between the Mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Beluce, and representatives of the Ministry of Transport and SC Metrorex SA, a calendar of punctual events was agreed upon, at the end of which, precisely on November 15, the “Tudor Argezi” station should be put into operation. Also then, the metro station built by the “Sector 4″ community will become a multimodal transport point, which will connect directly to the nearby multi-storey car park through an underground pedestrian tunnel, where people coming from outside the city will be able to safely exit. their cars in order to continue moving to the center of the capital by metro,” the City Hall of Sector 4 reported.

- Metrorex says the District 4 City Hall still has some work to do at the station, including securing a 2nd power source. On the other hand, Metrorex has yet to hire a significant number of people to work at the station, which extends the M2 by 1.5 km.
- Representatives of the city hall say that the work will be completed by the end of September, not to mention the connection to the city sewer, since there is no sewer network on the territory, and the septic tank has been built.
- With the commissioning of the Tudor Arghezi metro station, a schedule of 18 trains will be introduced, compared to 16 trains now, with a 4-minute interval between trains, Metrorex said.
- According to information sent by the City Hall of Sector 4 to HotNews.ro’s request, the reception of the metro station was completed on March 29, 2023.
The €50 million (grant) Tudor Arghezi Metro Station is being built by Sector 4 City Hall in partnership with Metrorex. In practice, the metro was extended between Berceni station, the current end of Magistrala 2, and the Ring Road for a distance of 1.6 kilometers. The station is built above ground level and has an altitude regime of P+2E.
The station platform is located on the first floor, and the administrative areas are distributed over two floors. At the same time, the Tudor Arghezi station is equipped with five pedestrian zones. One of them is located opposite the metro station and connects to the platform of the new station through a 14-meter long underground pedestrian crossing that cuts through Berceni Road.
“In addition, seven escalators facilitate the access of travelers to the platform, as well as seven elevators, which will facilitate access for people with disabilities. At the same time, a tactile directional mat for people with visual impairments was installed along the entire length of the site. Special attention was paid to the equipment and measures for the safety and protection of passengers in accordance with the rules specific to metro transport. Thus, at the Tudor Arghezi metro station, a video surveillance system was installed, consisting of 70 video cameras installed both on the platform, in two lobbies, and in five access areas. At the same time, the station is equipped with fire alarm centers, security alarms and air purification systems. Also, for the operation of hydrants, which are used in case of fire, the station is connected to two sources of water supply, one from the general network, and the other from its own sources (deep wells),” the city hall reported. Sector 4.
In the immediate vicinity of the Tudor Arghezi metro station, the City Hall of Sector 4 is also building a 300-space park&ride, which should be ready by November 15.
