Caroline Dolehide (25 years old) continues to surprise at the tournament in Guadalajara, the American reaching the semifinals of the WTA 1000 competition.

Caroline, currently ranked 111th in the world, exited after a dramatic match against Martina Trevisan (54th in the world).

The Italian was in control, winning the first set 6-3 and had four (!) match points in the second. However, Doleheid’s nerves were strong as he survived a stunning second set (11-9 in the tiebreak) before winning 6-3 in the decider. The game lasted two hours and 47 minutes.

Who Caroline Dolheide beat to reach the semi-finals: Peyton Stearns (43 WTA), Sachia Vickery (175 WTA), Kateryna Alexandrova (20 WTA – favorite 8) and Martina Trevisan (54 WTA).

After qualifying for the semifinals in Guadalajara, Caroline Doleheid will register a jump of 51 places in the WTA ranking: to 60, the best position of her career.
