The match of the 5th stage of the Italian championship “Lecce” – “Genoa” is scheduled for Friday, September 22 at 21:45 at the Stadio “Via del Mare” live on Orange Sport 3 and Prima Sport 3.

Two teams that have made a promising start in the league, Lecce and Genoa are ready to impress again in one of the most exciting matches of the 5th stage of Serie A.

Lecce are in 4th place with eight points and are one of three unbeaten teams this season along with Inter and Juventus, and they drew 1-1 with Monza in the previous round (they also qualified for the second round of the Coppa Italia after 1 -0 at home with Como).

Lecce, who finished last season in Serie A in 16th place, will be coached by Roberto D’Aversa from this summer. The team, coached by Alberto Gilardino, their former player from 2012-2014, from December 2022 also has two Romanians in the squad, defender Radu Dragushin, who has played in all four matches so far, and forward George Puskas, who, however, did not have time to play for Genoa in Serie A.

In their away matches this season, Genoa recorded a 1-0 win against Lazio and a 1-0 loss against Torino, with the team’s top scorer being new Italian striker Matteo Retegui, born in Argentina and in the first season not only in Serie A, but also in Europe.

The last time these two teams met was in the 2019-2020 Serie A season, when they drew 2-2 in the first leg with Lecce, and Genoa won the second leg 2-1 at home.
